Nilasagar is located in Dhobadanga Mauja of Gormagram union under Sadar upazila of Nilphamari district. Although it is known as Nilasagar, its former name is the Birat Dighi. In the 18th century, King named 'Birat' dug this dighi. You will see a gigantic gate at the entrance to Dighi area. The gate was built by the king. In the winter season, there are many guest birds coming in this place.
